I have compiled an overview of our favorite items for the RV. We currently have a 2021 Hurricane 29M. Each Summer we spend 40+ days on the road. The below are links to items we actually own and USE. If you are new to RV’ing or just looking for tips/advice I love to share. We purchased our first RV in 2021, a Class C, and are by no means Pro’s but after spending many weekends and long term during the Summer, I feel pretty confident that you will appreciate the recommendations on products.

When it comes to the bedding. Comfort is KEY. Especially if planning to spend a long time in your rig. Standard RV mattresses are usually not that great. We upgraded ours to a memory foam in our current rig, we did not spend a fortune, since we purchased off Amazon. Keep in mind you MUST purchase RV sized mattress/bedding. They are shorter than a normal mattress. In our previous Class C we purchased a mattress Topper, because the mattress folded when slide was retracted. We use a normal sized comforter because we like oversized toppers, but sheets/mattress are RV sized.

Living/Bedding

Kitchen items are all about keeping your items secure. Things shift while underway, and the goal is to keep everything safe and secure. There are a few items we have appreciated over the years, and my main goal is to maximize limited space. There are going to be your standard items that you can purchase anywhere, pots/pans, utensils etc. I have included some items that may not be top of mind.

Kitchen

Every RV bathroom is set up differently, getting inside of your rig and understanding your storage will be key. I recommend (before you head out) thinking about the day to day use the rig may see while traveling. Where can you store towels, where can you hang towels/wet bathing suits. What is the storage capacity for your toiletries, is the toilet paper accessible and/or sensible. Our current rig Toilet Paper holder was awkward, so I removed it. And it sits on a shelf. We do not have enough space inside our bathroom to hang towels, so we used command towel holders on the bathroom door to store our towels. I use one of our upper cabinets to store all of our meds. These are things we learned over time.

Bathroom

If you are moving regularly organization will become so important. Each time you check-in to a campground you will be provided maps, rules, wifi instructions etc. It is nice having a landing place for these items, that is easily accessible. Same with things like brooms, you will want them out of the way, but accessible. You have limited space, so anything that frees up storage or makes things easier to find is the goal.

Organization

The below list are must have items. These items are things we do not travel without. There are items like tool kit, drills, that I did not include, since most people have these items already.

Maintenance/RV Tools/ Basics

RV/Camping is all about getting outdoors. We RV so its clear we like creature comforts. These are a few items we have really appreciated.

Outdoor

We have a class A so we tow our Jeep Cherokee. It is important if you are looking to tow a vehicle, that you research if they are flat towable (preferred method). The other option is to pull a vehicle with a trailer, but that is additional items you have to unhook and find storage for, and I do not recommend. We have a Blue Ox system, and it was prior installed. We actually purchased our Jeep with all the items pre-installed (We searched specifically for vehicles with flat tow kit pre-installed)
